Parking at the western end of Butzerbachtal or where we started our walk, following an ending street out of Kordel
You will constantly follow the sign “ Romerpfad”, which is signed with a Roman coin picturing the emperor Maximinus. The whole route is signed very well!
We included two small extra detours: Hochburg and the viewing point Geyersley. Both were well worth it and almost flat extras. If you can, do the same :-)
In the beginning of the walk there is a little “umleiting” because of a landslide. Instead of walking directly next to the Butzerbach stream you walk a bit higher in the forest. There are clear info panels showing you the way. The lovely hanging bridges in the Butzerbachtal are still accessible!
A walk including many highlights:
-Butzerbachtal with its lovely bridges crossing the Butzerbach, especially the two hanging bridges
-Romisches bergwerk “Putzlocher”
-Hochburg, a spot on a big red rock formation overlooking surrounding forests
-the red coloured caves Genovevahohle and Klausenhohle
-the viewing point Geyersley where you have a nice panoramic view over Burg Ramstein, the small river Kyll and hills full of forests
-Burg Ramstein ruins (with possibility to drink something in the hotel/restaurant next door)
Enjoy!!!

The Romerpfad goes to the left, Geyersley viewing point to the right
We went to Geyersley and walked back the same way. It was worth the little detour, nice viewing point

Kohtalainen
Prachtige wandeling. Goed te doen, zelfs in december het verboden stukje met hier en daar over de rivier te springen.
